It started with a single vehicle.

SOWA SERVICE started in 1997 with air conditioning skills and a single vehicle. We go to our customers and provide service on site. That is still where we come from.

We go where we are called and finish each job we are given, one at a time. Through that repetition, we have kept learning the right knowledge and methods for customers we have not yet met.

What a large job site taught us.

The turning point was the renovation of a large shopping center in Shiga, with a total floor area of about 100,000 m². We were entrusted with all of the air conditioning, ventilation and smoke exhaust ductwork, a project on a scale we had never handled before.

To be honest, we had our doubts. But on the job site, we, and the contractors working with us, were all there because we had been chosen. So we decided to do everything we could. That decision has made us who we are today.

Inside the ceiling, on the drawings, during test runs: we stop and ask, “Is this really right?” We share what we notice and redo the work when needed. Work finished this way has led to the next request.

The easy road is usually the long way around.

If we choose the easy way, the extra work comes back to us later. So when in doubt, we choose the way that takes a little more effort. Standardizing procedures and making rules are how we build a footing to keep doing good work tomorrow.

Each time a customer asked, “Could you also help with this?”, we were able to do a little more. Today, we believe we have become a company people come to first for building services work.

We care about the work, so we go into the details.

There are three phrases we hold on to. Never let the work become dull. Give each day your best. If something seems wrong, speak up. Because we love this work, we notice the small details. We want to build carefully, even the parts our customers will never see.

So that customers say, “We want you to do it.”

Our goal is to be “Japan’s number-one building services contractor, from the customer’s point of view.” But we do not think number one is something you can call yourself. It means hearing a customer say, “We want to ask you.” For those words, we will keep giving our full attention to each job site.
