SOWA SERVICE is a contractor that builds building services on the job site. We started with air conditioning and ventilation work in 1997 and have since expanded into plumbing and electrical work.
Pipe and electrical work,
we take on both together.
When general contractors or subcontractors consult us about building services, our basic approach is to take on the work without splitting it by trade.
This is backed by our licenses and track record. We hold Special Construction Business Licenses for both pipe work and electrical work, and we can carry out electrical and mechanical work with our own tradespeople at the core, together with partner contractors. Our experience includes a single contract for a shopping center with about 100,000 m² of floor area, positive pressure systems for nuclear emergency off-site centers, and renovations of electronics stores across Japan.
Our President, Wago, says: “Because we have a track record of taking on every job without running from any of it, we can say we can handle any project.”
Our company brochure says: “Unless we are truly serious, we cannot make our customers happy.” Our slogan is “From the customer’s point of view, toward becoming Japan’s leading building services contractor.”

Licenses, experience and people. We have everything needed to see a project through to the end within our company.
Pipe and electrical work, together
We obtained the Special Construction Business License for pipe work in 2016 and for electrical work in 2018. We hold this license, which is required to take on large projects as prime contractor and share the work with partner contractors, for both pipe work and electrical work. Installing air conditioners and their power supply, ductwork for ventilation and smoke control, water supply and drainage piping: because you do not need a separate contractor for each trade, coordination between trades and schedule meetings are handled within our company.
New construction to large-scale renovation, homes to mixed-use facilities
We have worked on everything from whole-house air conditioning in detached homes to a large shopping center with about 100,000 m² of floor area. We also have experience with hotels, hospitals, electronics stores and public emergency facilities. We know both work that follows a new construction schedule and renovation carried out while the building is in use, so we can plan the work accordingly.
Our own tradespeople and construction managers
The tradespeople who do the installation and the construction managers who manage schedule and safety work for the same company. We follow the same plan with tradespeople from our partner contractors. Tradespeople report each day's progress and the next day's plan to the construction manager, and if the drawings and the job site do not match, the construction manager reworks the schedule and layout on the spot. In 2012 we introduced 3D CAD, and we check how ducts and piping fit before installation.

A large shopping center of about 100,000 m², under a single contract
In 2014, we received the air conditioning and fire safety (smoke control) work for a large shopping center in Shiga as a single contract.

In 2012, for four nuclear emergency off-site centers in Fukui, we built and delivered positive pressure systems, which keep indoor air pressure high so outside air has difficulty getting in, and also handled construction management.

Better quality, lower cost, shorter lead times, stronger proposals. We share these four goals by turning them into concrete actions in our daily work.
Higher quality
Pipe slopes, duct supports, electrical connections. The more a part will be hidden in the ceiling or walls once finished, the more carefully we check it during installation.
Lower costs
We do pipe and electrical work within one company, which reduces duplicated planning and travel. We also select and arrange equipment in-house.
Shorter lead times
We check how everything fits in 3D CAD in advance to reduce rework. Our tradespeople and construction managers work for the same company, so we can respond quickly to schedule changes.
Better proposals
Because we handle both installation and maintenance, we propose equipment and layouts that also make inspection and replacement easier.
