We handled building services work for renovations at electronics stores across Japan. We renovated air conditioning at 12 stores in 2018 and plumbing at 5 stores in 2019.

Challenge and response

In electronics store renovations, building conditions differ from store to store.

Issue

At stores across Japan, the air conditioning and plumbing systems had to be renovated as part of each store renovation.

Action

We checked each store on site and built the schedule by separating the common steps from the adjustments needed for each store.

Result

Over the two years 2018–2019, SOWA SERVICE handled a total of 17 stores in various regions.

Approach

How we work

当社の進め方

When working inside a store, we separate the work area with temporary partitions and protective covering, so the boundary with the sales floor is clear. Aisles and routes to emergency exits stay open during the work.

We agree with the store on when noisy or dusty work is done. At the end of each work session, we clean up and do a test run.

When replacing air conditioning, we set the switchover order for each system in advance to keep downtime as short as possible.
