A large electronics store with a sales floor area of about 6,400 m² over 5 floors. We were awarded the full electrical package and carried it out together with air conditioning, plumbing and fire and life safety (fire protection).

In an electronics store, the sales floor itself is full of electrical equipment.

Issue

Across five floors, from the 3rd to the 7th, a large amount of electrical equipment had to be in place in time for the opening: sales floor lighting and outlets, power for display TVs, and wiring for POS, LAN and security cameras.

Action

We were awarded the full electrical package and served as the single point of contact, together with the air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing and fire and life safety work. From April, we installed main lines, lighting and outlet wiring, low-voltage wiring and distribution boards on each floor, and before the opening our own employees also joined the electrical work.

Result

Work started in March 2016, the store opened in November, and we completed the work by December. Since the opening, we have continued to receive orders from the same store for electrical repairs, added circuits and electrical changes when the sales floor is rearranged.

How we work

In an electronics store, the electrical layout is closely tied to the layout of the sales floor fixtures. In this store, the sales floor outlets were designed to be fed from the ceiling and adjusted on site to match the fixture positions.

We took on all of the electrical work as one package, from main lines and distribution boards to lighting, outlets, low-voltage systems and public address. Power for the air conditioning units is also part of the electrical work, so as the air conditioning contractor we could manage both schedules together.
