A total floor area of about 100,000 m² is about the size of two Tokyo Domes. We installed the air conditioning and smoke control systems in sales and common areas of this size.

Story

Challenge and response

課題と対応

The larger the building, the more the building systems overlap in space and in schedule.

Issue

Air conditioning and smoke control systems had to be installed in the sales areas and common areas, with a total floor area of about 100,000 m². Both use ducts in the ceiling space, so their routes and schedules easily clash.

Action

We were awarded the air conditioning, ventilation and smoke control ductwork as one package, and prepared the drawings and carried out the installation in parallel.

Result

We carried out all of the air conditioning, ventilation and smoke control work without cutting corners. The trust and track record we gained on this project led to a wider range of work afterwards.

Approach

How we work

当社の進め方

Looking back on this project, Takashi Wago, our President and Representative Director, says, “The hardest part was that we could not cut any corners.” It meant renovating the smoke control system of an existing building, work in which SOWA SERVICE had little experience at the time. The schedule was tight, with drawings and installation running in parallel, and the job site was far away.

At SOWA SERVICE, we check each part, one by one, and ask “Is this the best way?” This includes the ceiling spaces that are hidden once the building is finished, the drawings and the test runs. We share what we notice openly and redo work when needed. Meeting expectations on schedule and budget matters to us just as much. Completing this project was a turning point for our company.

Figures shown are limited to total floor area, number of tenants and award date.
